Late on the night of Sunday, June 11, 2017, police officers in Kansas City, Missouri, were dispatched to a residence in the 4200 block of Monroe Avenue following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, first responders discovered 27-year-old Michael Holmes suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Holmes was transported to a nearby hospital where, despite emergency medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and died a short time later.
