Around 7:45 p.m., police arrived at the 3500 block of Agnes Avenue, where they discovered a young victim on the front porch of a home. The individual was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Despite the arrival of emergency responders, the victim was declared dead at the scene, marking a somber moment for the community as the 99th homicide of the year in the city.
Authorities identified the deceased as Demario Gentry, a 15-year-old male who had recently celebrated his birthday the previous month. He was a student who had attended Brookside Charter School. Following the incident, detectives began processing the scene for evidence and canvassing the neighborhood for potential witnesses who might have seen or heard the events leading up to the gunfire.
