On January 19, 2023, 66-year-old Douglas Elroy Menser was fatally shot in his Kansas City, Missouri, home. Despite sustaining eight gunshot wounds, Menser managed to call 911, identifying his assailant as 39-year-old Donald E. Crowe. Menser was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries later that afternoon.
