On November 9, 2024, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Kansas City police responded to reports of a shooting in the 5600 block of East 69th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 39-year-old Johnnie J. Sharp suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries hours later.
