Death by Force

On September 9, 2016, 33-year-old Ruijuan Guo was shot and killed during an armed robbery in the South End area of Charlotte, North Carolina. Guo, a Mandarin teacher at Kensington Elementary School, was leaving a concert with her fiancé and a friend when they were approached by a gunman. The suspect demanded money and, after Guo’s fiancé could not retrieve his wallet quickly enough, the gunman shot Guo. Three suspects were eventually arrested and charged in connection with the murder.
