On May 2, 1975, 21-year-old Janie Elizabeth Thompson and her friend Sandra Ann McAfee were found murdered in their apartment at 2417 Double Oaks Road in Charlotte, North Carolina. A relative of McAfee discovered their bodies after failing to reach them. Both women had been shot, and the case remains unsolved.
