In the early evening of May 24, 2024, the sound of gunfire cut through the air near 31st Street and Van Brunt Boulevard in Kansas City, Missouri. Patrolling police officers heard the shots and moved towards the source. Their investigation led them to a car wash where they discovered 37-year-old Kevion D. Bifford inside a vehicle, unresponsive. Emergency medical services were called to the scene, but Bifford was pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
