On the morning of March 31, 2024, Kansas City, Missouri, police responded to a reported shooting in the 1300 block of East 89th Street. Upon arrival, officers found 27-year-old Da'Shawn L. Bell unresponsive inside a nearby residence, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel declared Bell deceased at the scene.
