On the morning of March 31, 2024, law enforcement officers in Kansas City, Missouri, were dispatched to a residence located in the 1300 block of East 89th Street following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival shortly after 9:00 a.m., police entered the home and discovered an unresponsive Black male, identified as 27-year-old Da’Shawn L. Bell, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
