In the autumn of 2022, a Kansas City, Missouri, community was shaken by the violent death of 36-year-old David Thomas. On the night of Sunday, October 23rd, police were called to the Ridgeview Heights Apartments located in the 3200 block of Quincy Drive on the east side of the city. There, they discovered David Thomas, a male, suffering from gunshot wounds and unresponsive.
Responding officers immediately began to render first aid and perform CPR in a desperate attempt to save his life.
However, their efforts were in vain. Emergency medical crews arriving at the scene pronounced Thomas dead, his life tragically cut short. The killing marked the 139th homicide in Kansas City that year.
In the wake of the shooting, the Kansas City Police Department launched a homicide investigation and began searching for potential suspects. Authorities publicly appealed for anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward and contact the homicide unit or the anonymous TIPS Hotline. A significant reward of up to $25,000 was offered for any information that would lead to an arrest in connection with the case. Despite these efforts, information regarding any arrests or the identification of any suspects has not been made publicly available. The investigation into the death of David Thomas remains ongoing.
