Early in the morning on Saturday, June 13, 2015, 37-year-old Stacy L. Conrad Jr., a male resident of Kansas City, Missouri, became the victim of a violent homicide. The incident occurred outside the River Aces bar, located near the intersection of 18th and Swift streets in North Kansas City. Around 2:00 a.m., as patrons were leaving the establishment, a physical altercation reportedly broke out among a group of people in the parking lot.
During the disturbance, Conrad was gunned down and
subsequently found sprawled on the pavement by responding officers. Emergency personnel transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment of his gunshot wounds. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries; while initial reports indicated he died shortly after the shooting, his obituary notes that he passed away on June 16, 2015.
Following the shooting, the Metro Squad was activated to assist North Kansas City police with the investigation, hoping to locate witnesses who might have fled the chaotic scene. Authorities released photos and appealed to the public for tips, stating they were looking for several individuals who might have information. In July 2015, detectives announced they had identified three persons of interest but had not yet made any arrests. As of the last available updates from that period, no suspects had been formally charged in connection with his death.
