On August 8, 2024, at approximately 10:15 a.m., Kansas City, Missouri, police responded to reports of gunfire in the 9500 block of Harrison Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 23-year-old Wayne Steward unresponsive in the doorway of a residence, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
