Dante L. Wachtler, a 25-year-old man from Kansas City, Missouri, was tragically shot and killed on August 19, 2018. His body was discovered near East Ninth Street and Harrison Avenue around 4:30 a.m. that morning. Wachtler had been staying with a friend near St. Joseph for a few weeks, hoping to find work as a chef. He had purchased a Greyhound bus ticket to return home to California and was found just a couple of blocks from the bus station.
