On the Fourth of July in 2020, a holiday meant for celebration turned tragic for 42-year-old John Young III in the Dutchtown neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. Young, a male known to his loved ones as 'Redd,' was found lying on the ground with gunshot wounds shortly after 11:30 in the morning on the 4600 block of South Spring Avenue. The festive atmosphere of the day was shattered by the violence that erupted, leaving a community in shock.
