On August 7, 2019, 20-year-old Justin Kibble, a Black male from St. Louis, Missouri, became the victim of a violent shooting incident that unfolded on a major highway. The chaotic event took place in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the Riverview Boulevard exit in north St. Louis. Kibble, known to friends and family by the nickname '7 JMO,' was a young father of two children and had attended Soldan International Studies High School.
The incident began around 9:30 p.m.
when gunfire erupted, targeting a vehicle occupied by Kibble and several other men. The barrage of bullets caused the SUV to crash, creating a devastating scene on the interstate. When first responders and St. Louis Metropolitan Police officers arrived, they discovered a harrowing tableau inside the vehicle. Two men were pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were suffering from gunshot wounds and were rushed to area hospitals. Kibble was among the victims who lost their lives in this triple homicide event. The other men killed in the attack were identified as 24-year-old Deshawn McGee and 29-year-old Maurice L. East Jr.
