On the morning of January 31, 2021, thirty-year-old James Allen Cook arrived for his shift as a contracted security guard at the Delmar Loop MetroLink station in St. Louis, Missouri. A husband and father of two young daughters, Cook was known to his family and community as a dedicated individual who had previously served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps, completing two tours of duty overseas. He was employed by G4S, a private security firm hired to patrol the transit system, and was working ...
