In the early morning hours of January 8, 2014, a violent incident unfolded in the Gate District of St. Louis, Missouri, claiming the life of 20-year-old Romell Clemons. A Black male known affectionately to friends and family as 'Noodles,' Clemons was outside his home just after midnight when he was accosted by a group of individuals. According to police reports, four unknown men approached him and opened fire, striking him multiple times in the abdomen, clavicle, and arm.
Following the shooting, the assailants immediately fled the scene in a silver, four-door vehicle, leaving Clemons critically injured on the ground. Emergency responders arrived to find him unconscious and rushed him to a local hospital. Despite medical intervention, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. His death marked the second homicide recorded in the city of St. Louis for that year.
