On the morning of May 25, 2017, a violent spree occurred in the St. Louis, Missouri area, claiming the lives of two individuals in separate but connected incidents. Authorities were first alerted to a shooting in the Baden neighborhood of north St. Louis, where they discovered the body of a woman in an alley. Approximately fifteen minutes later and about four miles away, emergency responders were dispatched to a second crime scene at a Conoco gas station located in the 3600 block of Dunn Road
in Dellwood. It was there that 28-year-old Andre Jones was found suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.
Jones had been at the gas station when a gunman opened fire, striking him in the parking lot. Despite the arrival of emergency services, the male victim did not survive the attack. Investigators quickly linked the two shootings, identifying a mid-1990s blue Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck with a camper shell as the vehicle fleeing both scenes. The search for the perpetrator expanded beyond the immediate area, launching a multi-state manhunt for the suspect believed to be responsible for the double homicide.
Later that same evening, law enforcement officers in Selmer, Tennessee—approximately 300 miles south of St. Louis—received reports of a naked man walking along a roadway. Police encountered the individual, identified as 36-year-old Casey Lowery, under a highway overpass. Lowery was reportedly combative and behaving erratically, requiring officers to use a stun gun to subdue him. He was taken into custody and initially charged in Tennessee with resisting arrest and indecent exposure before being extradited back to Missouri.
Prosecutors in St. Louis charged Lowery in connection with the deaths of both victims. Evidence presented during legal proceedings indicated that Lowery had fired upon the woman, identified as Keiva Jones, before driving to the gas station where he killed Andre Jones. In 2022, a jury found Lowery guilty of murder in the second degree, assault in the first degree, and armed criminal action related to the spree.
