In a tragic incident on June 11, 2022, 15-year-old Quintez Robinson, a male from Covington, Georgia, was fatally shot in the Glasgow Village area of unincorporated North St. Louis County. The event unfolded around 9:30 p.m. in the backyard of a residence on Shepley Drive, where both Robinson and his cousin were found with gunshot wounds.
Emergency services responded to a call for shots fired and a ShotSpotter activation in the 300 block of Shepley Drive.
Upon arrival, officers discovered both teenagers with life-threatening injuries. They were transported to a local hospital, where they both succumbed to their wounds.
The St. Louis County Police Department investigated the shooting and determined it to be a murder-suicide. Authorities identified the shooter as 19-year-old Tadarious Jackson, who was Robinson's cousin. Investigators concluded that Jackson shot Robinson before turning the gun on himself. Both teenagers were residents of Covington, Georgia, and it was not immediately clear what led to the shooting or why they were in the St. Louis area. The investigation was ongoing as police sought more information about the circumstances that led to the fatal encounter.
