On the night of October 13, 2018, the quiet of downtown St. Louis, Missouri, was shattered by the sound of gunfire near the city's riverfront district. Just after midnight, local law enforcement responded to a call reporting a shooting in the 300 block of North 4th Street, a bustling area situated directly in front of the Mansion House Apartments and near Washington Avenue.
