On the night of September 23, 2023, the life of 22-year-old Martez Currell Stevenson was tragically cut short in St. Louis, Missouri. A Black male, Stevenson was discovered in the driver's seat of a white sedan near the intersection of Kingshighway Boulevard and Hodiamont Tracks just after 11:45 p.m. He had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
At the time of his death, he resided in the 5000 block of Trailbend Drive in Black Jack.
Known for his energetic and loving nature, Stevenson was a dedicated father to three children. He had a passion for boxing and trained five days a week. His family remembers him as someone who was meticulous about his appearance and hygiene. He is survived by his mother, three children, and several siblings.
The St. Louis Police Department is actively investigating the homicide. Despite their efforts, no suspects have been detained, and no arrests have been made in connection with his death. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the Homicide Division or leave an anonymous tip with CrimeStoppers to help bring closure to his family.
