On the afternoon of Saturday, February 25, 2017, police officers in St. Louis, Missouri, were dispatched to a residence in the 4300 block of Obear Avenue in the northern part of the city. Upon arrival at the scene, first responders discovered the body of Larry D. Barnes, a 51-year-old African-American male, who was suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Authorities declared him dead at the location, marking a violent end to a domestic dispute that had escalated within the home.
