In September 2014, the life of 24-year-old Darnell Robinson was tragically cut short in St. Louis. On the evening of September 4th, firefighters responded to a vehicle fire in the 1700 block of N. 20th Street. After extinguishing the blaze, they made a grim discovery inside the car. In the driver's seat was the body of Darnell Robinson, who had sustained a gunshot wound to his head. His death was one of six homicides that occurred in St.
Louis within a harrowing 18-hour period.
The investigation into Robinson's death led to the identification and arrest of multiple suspects. In October 2014, Dana Wallace, 25, was charged with first-degree murder, abandonment of a corpse, and armed criminal action. Another man, 20-year-old Bryant Evans, was also arrested in connection with the crime. The case continued to develop, and over a year later, in November 2015, a third suspect was charged.
Dylan Izizarry, 23, was taken into custody and faced charges of armed criminal action, knowingly burning, tampering with evidence, and abandonment of a corpse for his role in the events surrounding Robinson's death. Izizarry was held on a $100,000, cash-only bond for his alleged involvement in the killing and the subsequent burning of the vehicle with Robinson inside.
