In the fall of 2021, a joyous occasion shared on social media turned into a prelude to a tragedy that would end the life of Marilyn Taylor, a 52-year-old female from Florissant, Missouri. On Saturday, October 23rd, Taylor and her partner, Reioinnie Hood, announced their engagement on Facebook, an event that was met with a wave of congratulatory messages from friends and family. However, this public declaration of love allegedly provoked a deadly reaction from Hood's ex-girlfriend, Kenrianna L.
Little.
The day following the announcement, a campaign of harassment began. Little, 24, is said to have inundated both Taylor and Hood with threatening phone calls, text messages, and photos. The situation escalated dramatically when Little, accompanied by an unidentified man, arrived unannounced at the couple's home on Santiago Drive in Florissant on Sunday, October 24, 2021. Posing as a maintenance worker, Little allegedly gained entry into the residence when Taylor answered the door.
Once inside, Little is accused of immediately opening fire on Taylor, shooting her multiple times. A physical altercation then reportedly broke out in the doorway between Little, her male companion, and Hood. Following the struggle, Hood was forcibly taken from the home. The unidentified man with Little then re-entered the residence and shot Taylor several more times. The assailants, along with Hood, fled the scene in a black sedan with a tan bumper. Marilyn Taylor was pronounced dead at her home.
In the aftermath of the fatal shooting, Kenrianna L. Little was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action, and first-degree burglary. The involvement of the unidentified man who accompanied Little remains a part of the ongoing investigation.
