Christopher David Lunz: A Detailed Account of His Crimes

Early Life and Background

Christopher David Lunz was born on September 26, 1967, in New York, USA. Little is known about his early life, but as an adult, he developed an addiction to crack cocaine and was arrested for auto theft in New Jersey, serving three years in prison. In 1999, he moved to Sylva, North Carolina.

Patricide: The Murder of David Lunz

In early 2003, following the death of his mother, Laura A. Lunz, Christopher learned that his father, David James Lunz, had inherited the family's wealth, amounting to $394,494. Seeking to claim this inheritance, Christopher devised a plan to murder his father. On March 8, 2003, Christopher and his acquaintance, William Timothy Eugene Westerman, traveled from Sylva, North Carolina, to David's residence in Palm Harbor, Florida. After a brief interaction, Christopher retrieved a sawed-off shotgun from his backpack and assaulted his father. He then handed the weapon to Westerman, instructing him to shoot David. Westerman complied, using a pillow to muffle the noise, and shot David at point-blank range. Following the murder, they stole several items from the house, including a Smith & Wesson .38/44 revolver and a gold Fendi watch. The revolver was later discarded into Cedar Cliff Lake.

Investigation and Arrest

The case remained unsolved until October 2005, when the stolen revolver resurfaced on the banks of Cedar Cliff Lake. Forensic analysis linked the firearm to Westerman, leading to his arrest. He implicated Christopher as the mastermind behind the killing and agreed to testify against him in exchange for a reduced sentence of 30 years imprisonment. ...Read More
