Dale Devon Scheanette, infamously known as the "Bathtub Killer," was a serial killer who terrorized Arlington, Texas, in the mid-1990s. His crimes were characterized by their brutality and the chilling similarities in their execution.

Crimes

Scheanette's reign of terror began on September 17, 1996, when he murdered Christine Vu, a 26-year-old elementary school teacher. Vu was found in her apartment, bound with duct tape and placed face down in a half-filled bathtub. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled. Just over three months later, on December 24, 1996, Scheanette struck again. Wendie Prescott, a 22-year-old teacher's aide, was found in a similar condition in her apartment, which was in the same complex as Vu's. Prescott had also been bound with duct tape, sexually assaulted, and strangled before being placed in a bathtub.
