Her body was discovered the next day in the trunk of her car, parked on Fairfax Avenue near Olympic Boulevard. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled.

  • Details: Marla Jean Hires, a 23-year-old wife and mother, left her home early in the morning to work as a claims adjuster. Her body was found the next day, wrapped in old pieces of drapery and carpet, and dumped down an embankment near Imperial Highway and Kellogg Drive. She had been raped and strangled.
