On a Saturday night in Kansas City, Missouri, the life of Andre Stephens, a 40-year-old man, was tragically cut short. On April 16, 2022, police were called to a residence on Longview Road around 10:30 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Stephens with life-threatening injuries. He was quickly taken to a nearby hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
Stephens, known as a loving family man, was a respected executive chef in the Kansas City
area. Born and raised in the metro area, he was a graduate of Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts. He was a devoted husband to his wife of four years and a loving father to his three daughters and one son. His sudden death left his family in a state of shock and financial hardship.
The investigation into the shooting led to the arrest of a 14-year-old. The juvenile suspect was subsequently charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in juvenile court. Due to the suspect's age, their name was not publicly released. The case was set for a pre-trial conference in early May of the same year at the Family Justice Center.
