Jamil Melvay Penix, a 23-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on May 23, 2016, in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred outside the Kings Row apartment complex in southeast Houston. According to reports, Penix was found in the parking lot on the east side of the complex with a single gunshot wound. Paramedics arrived at the scene but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon their arrival.
