Death by Force

On February 12, 2024, at approximately 2 a.m., Kansas City police responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of 39th Street and Woodland Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men with gunshot wounds lying on the ground south of the intersection. One of the victims, identified as 31-year-old Deion Lewis, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, 27-year-old Tyler J. Giles, was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
