In the spring of 2022, tragedy struck in Kansas City, Missouri, with the death of Carlos Barnett, a 24-year-old Black / African American man. On the morning of April 29th, the sound of gunfire shattered the peace at Ivanhoe Park. When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Barnett, who had sustained fatal injuries from a shooting. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at the park.
