Michael P. Mullane, a 33-year-old police officer from Kansas City, Missouri, tragically lost his life on December 8, 1908, during a violent confrontation known as the "Adam God" riot. Mullane, originally from Athea, County Limerick, Ireland, had moved to Kansas City in 1897 and joined the police force in 1905. He was known for his dedication and bravery, having previously saved a man from drowning during the 1903 flood.
