On the evening of June 24, 2022, a violent incident occurred in Kansas City, Missouri, resulting in the death of 31-year-old male Nigel De’Jon Delon. Officers from the Kansas City Police Department were dispatched just before 8:00 p.m. to a Family Dollar store located at 8215 Troost Avenue after receiving reports of a disturbance. Delon, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, had relocated to Kansas City and was a graduate of a culinary arts school in Austin, Texas. He was employed as a forklift operator and was known to be a devoted father to a young daughter.
