William Verner, a 24-year-old resident of Kansas City, Missouri, tragically lost his life on January 10, 2016. He died from a gunshot wound, marking a grim start to the year for Kansas City, which recorded eight homicides in the first ten days of 2016. The incident occurred at the Gotham Apartments on East Linwood Boulevard. Police were called to the scene around 3 p.m. and found Verner with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
