Jazion Sanders, an 18-year-old male, was fatally shot in Kansas City, Missouri, on the afternoon of Sunday, November 27, 2022. The incident, which also claimed the life of 16-year-old Devohn Dudley-Reese, unfolded near East 28th Street and Garfield Avenue, turning a weekend afternoon into a scene of violence.
Responding to reports of gunfire shortly after 2:30 p.m., Kansas City police officers arrived to find both teenagers unresponsive outside a residence.
Despite immediate medical attention, both Sanders and Dudley-Reese were pronounced dead at the scene. A third individual was also injured in the shooting.
According to court documents filed in the case, the shooting stemmed from an altercation. Surveillance footage reportedly showed the two victims with two other individuals at the intersection when a struggle began. During the confrontation, it is alleged that a 17-year-old male shot Dudley-Reese. Subsequently, an unidentified fourth person is said to have shot Sanders.

As of December 2022, no charges had been filed in connection with the deaths of Jazion Sanders and Devohn Dudley-Reese, leaving the case unresolved and the families searching for answers.
