On the night of July 1, 2022, a quiet street in the Compton Heights neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, became the scene of a sudden and unexplained tragedy involving 26-year-old Jerrod Lee Jones Jr. Around 1:00 a.m., St. Louis police officers were driving through the 3500 block of Russell Boulevard, en route to an unrelated call for service.
