Clarence M. Kistner, who served as the Town Marshal of Shelburn, Indiana, tragically lost his life on February 10, 1979, at the age of 43. The incident occurred outside a tavern in Farmersburg, a nearby town. On that fateful night, Marshal Kistner was assisting other officers with a suspect who was believed to be driving under the influence.
