In the early morning hours of October 7, 2018, a dispute between two men in Muncie, Indiana, escalated to a fatal conclusion, leaving 28-year-old Jordan Rowe dead from multiple gunshot wounds. The incident, which unfolded at a convenience store and gas station, was the culmination of ongoing friction between Rowe and his assailant, Armon D. Edwards.
Leading up to the deadly encounter, there had been a history of conflict between the two men.
Edwards held a belief that Rowe had been involved in firing shots at his grandmother's house, a sentiment that fueled the animosity between them. This underlying tension set the stage for the events that would transpire.
On the morning of the shooting, both Rowe and Edwards found themselves at the same Muncie gas station. Edwards, accompanied by a woman, arrived and soon after confronted Rowe. In the investigation that followed, Armon D. Edwards was identified as the shooter. He was subsequently arrested and faced a number of charges, including murder, felony murder, and criminal recklessness. During legal proceedings, Edwards raised a claim of self-defense. However, a jury found him guilty of felony murder and criminal recklessness, though he was found not guilty of the separate charge of murder.
