In the summer of 2022, the city of Muncie, Indiana, was rocked by a shocking crime that resulted in the deaths of three family members, including 19-year-old Kyler Ryan Musick. The tragic events began to unfold on the evening of July 12, when Musick was picked up from his home by his friend, Devin Xavier Myers, and Myers' girlfriend, Alexandra Raegan.
Musick was never seen alive by his family again.
Later that night, Myers returned to Musick's residence, this time accompanied by Daniel L. Jones. Armed with handguns, the two men forced their way into the home where Musick's mother, brother, and two sisters were present. Myers allegedly held Musick's mother at gunpoint, demanding drugs and other valuables. The home invasion took a deadly turn as Myers and Jones encountered other family members. In the end, Malcolm Perdue, 69, and Kyndra Skinner, 51, were fatally shot.
While the horrific events were unfolding at the family home, Kyler Musick was already dead. According to statements made by Jones to investigators, Myers had shot his 'friend in the face, wrapped the body in plastic and then got rid of the body.' Musick’s family reported him missing, and police began a search. His Jeep Grand Cherokee was discovered hidden on 9th Street, with what appeared to be blood in the center console. On July 14, two days after he was last seen, Kyler Musick’s body was found in a rural area of Delaware County.
The investigation led to the swift arrests of the suspects. Devin Xavier Myers was charged with five counts of murder, along with robbery, criminal confinement, and other charges. Daniel L. Jones faced two counts of murder, robbery, and criminal confinement charges. Alexandra Paige Reagan was charged with assisting a criminal and obstruction of justice for her alleged role in helping to dispose of Musick’s body. The Delaware County prosecutor announced that the death penalty was being considered for the suspects in the triple homicide.
