On a late morning in Muncie, Indiana, the life of William D. Rucker, a 25-year-old Black/African American male, was tragically cut short. On November 5, 2021, in the 2200 block of South Pershing Drive, gunfire erupted, and when the chaos subsided, Rucker was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man was also struck by a bullet during the incident and was taken to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital by a friend with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
