In the early morning hours of a cold January day in Indianapolis, a tragic event unfolded that would forever alter the lives of one family. On January 15, 2010, Sonny L. Stingley, a 37-year-old African American male, was killed in his home on the near-northwest side of the city. The incident began around 6:45 a.m. when his wife went outside to warm up their car. As she was returning to the house, she was ambushed by two masked men who forced her back inside at gunpoint.
