On March 25, 2024, Indianapolis police responded to reports of shots fired in a neighborhood on the northeast side of the city. The call came in around 10:50 p.m., and responding officers were informed en route that a person had been shot. Upon arrival, police found two men with gunshot wounds outside a residence in the 3800 block of Sherman Forest Lane. Both men were taken to a hospital, where one of them, 50-year-old Eric Spencer Parks, died from his injuries.
