On June 14, 1990, Adam Soto, a 20-year-old resident of South Bend, Indiana, was tragically killed in a shooting incident. Adam was leaving a house at 600 W. LaSalle St. with some friends when a car occupied by two men passed by. An exchange of words occurred between Adam and the occupants of the car. The vehicle then stopped and backed up, and as Adam turned to face it, one of the occupants shot him. Adam was killed instantly, and one of his friends was also wounded in the incident.
