In the late hours of a Saturday night in Hammond, Indiana, a domestic dispute escalated into a tragic and fatal encounter. Renata Marquez, a 37-year-old Hispanic mother, was shot and killed in her home on March 29, 2014. She lived in the 2000 block of Lincoln Street with her husband, their 4-year-old daughter, and her own mother.
