In the late hours of a summer night in Indianapolis, a discovery was made that would leave a family heartbroken and a community searching for answers. On August 9, 2015, 25-year-old Calvin M. Lewis, a Black male, was found inside his pickup truck at 3316 Manor Court on the city's east side. He had been fatally shot. The initial call to police around 1 a.m. was for a vehicle accident, but the grim reality of a homicide was soon apparent to the responding officers.
