In the winter of 2015, the life of Dwayne E. Momon, a 48-year-old performing artist and insurance agent, was cut short in what remains an unsolved crime. On the evening of December 7th, Momon was fatally shot inside his apartment located in the 3500 block of Washington Street in Gary, Indiana. Residing in Gary for most of his life, he was a 1985 graduate of Lew Wallace High School and was known for his work as a promoter for Demo Services.
The tragic event left his family and friends
seeking answers and justice. In the months that followed, friends of Momon took action, offering a reward of up to $5,000 for any information that would lead to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for his death. The Lake County Metro Homicide Unit was involved in the investigation, and the public was urged to come forward with any potential leads.
