In the early hours of a summer morning in Gary, Indiana, the life of Robert Lee Crawford, a 33-year-old man known affectionately as 'Hawk,' was brought to a violent and tragic end. On July 13, 2020, at approximately 2 a.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the quiet of the 200 block of East 16th Avenue. When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a crowd gathered around Crawford, who was lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds.
