Carl Derrelle Chislom, a 27-year-old male, was fatally shot in Indianapolis on the afternoon of Friday, May 13, 2016. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of 42nd Street and Emerson Avenue on the city's northeast side. Chislom was a passenger in a vehicle traveling on Arlington Avenue when individuals in another car opened fire, striking him at least once.
Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and began treating Chislom for his gunshot wounds.
Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car in which Chislom was a passenger was not injured in the attack.
