On November 29, 2024, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 2100 block of Braeburn East Drive, near East 21st Street and Post Road on the city's east side. Upon arrival, officers discovered 22-year-old Darius Thompson lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services pronounced him dead at the scene.
