In the late hours of a Monday in Indianapolis, a burst of violence shattered the night, forever altering the course of a young man's life. On February 24, 2025, police responded to a report of a shooting on the northwest side of the city, in the 6700 block of Eagle Pointe Drive North. There they found 19-year-old Nevaeh Jordan Roll suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital in serious condition, his life hanging precariously in the balance.
For two days, Nevaeh fought for his life, but his injuries proved to be too severe. On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, the Marion County Coroner's Office confirmed that the young man had died. News of his passing rippled through the community, leaving friends and family to grapple with the sudden and tragic loss of a life cut short. In the wake of his death, those who knew him shared memories of a loving, giving, and funny young man who was fiercely loyal and protective of those he held dear. He was a graduate of Perry Meridian High School and had been working at a local car wash.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department immediately launched a homicide investigation into the shooting. Detectives began to piece together the events of that fateful Monday night, seeking to understand the circumstances that led to the senseless act of violence. As of late 2025, authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the death of Nevaeh Jordan Roll. The investigation remains ongoing, and police have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward and speak with the lead detective on the case. The community holds its breath, hoping for answers and for justice for a young life taken too soon.
