Christopher Carlson, aged 49, was found shot to death on January 8, 2016, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Carlson had previously gained attention for a controversial child abuse case in which he forced his three young grandsons to hike the Grand Canyon in extreme heat without sufficient food or water.
